Texas A&M's started today

I just set eggs for the white Texas A&M quail today so I will have at least 2 varieties of the coturnix quail available at the same time.  I am considering adding another variety or two down the line and I will let everyone know when I do.

Happy Hatching!

I'm finally getting started!!!!

Placed my order tonight for equipment and eggs and should be up and running in about 3 months.  I want to thank all of you who have requested my ebook.   You need to know that it is inspiring to me that you would ask for it. I hope it provides you with some helpful tips on getting started with the Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail.

My goal in getting back in is to come up with a superior strain of the Jumbo Brown and become the number one provider of quality quail eggs and eventually quail meat in the country. My first task is to come up with an affordable, more organic feed.  Purina has the best quail feed going but they are not cheap nor are they organic.  I know I've set my goals high but if anyone reading this has come up with some natural feed supplements, I'd like to know what you found.  I hope to have eggs and day old chicks available by the fall but it all depends on the weather.  I can't ship chicks in the months of January and February - usually.  I have tried it with varying levels of success.  So much depends upon the Post Office and I have no control once it leaves my locale.

Thanks again to everyone who stops by my site.  Drop me a line and let me know how your quail projects are coming along.

Blessings In Christ Jesus,

Wally

Sorry to say that I have not been able to get the quail going again - yet!  I have started some chickens (Delwares and Rhode Island Whites) and I'm hatching some broiler chickens for the freezer, but the time just hasn't been right to jump back in to the fray!  I'll keep you posted.

Blessingsss,

Great news!  We finally found a small farm today and will be getting started in the next month or so.  I'm very excited to be raising the birds again and look forward to shipping eggs and day old chicks once again.  I'll keep you updated.

Gearing up for the future

I'm excited to say that there has been a lot of activity on this site as of lately.  Many people are stopping by to see what has been happening and requesting my book on raising Coturnix Quail.

We are looking for property at this time and hope to be back in production by this summer.  I want to develop a solid line that I can offer to the public to build up the breed and give everyone an opportunity to raise a larger Jumbo Brown Coturnix.  Happy reading!

God bless,

Wally

Set 120 Eggs on Sunday

Got my first shipment of eggs in on Saturday and after letting them settle 24 hours, I put them in the incubator.  Looking forward to a great hatch.  Typically, a hatch from mailed eggs would be around 50%, but I have higher hopes.  I'll post the results in 17 days!
